Guidelines on children in contact with the Justice System

Resumen

This edition was adopted by the Council of the International Association of Youth and Family Judges and Magistrates in London on 21 October 2016.
This document portrays the hard and committed work of the members of this association, who, from the exchange of experiences and the comparative study of law, have compiled these standards of good practice that will serve as models of inspiration for the legal and institutional reforms of various countries.
The development of documents such as the one we are presenting, shows that the international community is concerned about the vulnerability of children who, for various reasons, are in contact with justice systems. It also makes clear the intention to continue working together to ensure that, as children move through these circumstances, their rights under the Convention are fully respected.
